Steve Johnson

Steve Johnson paints the rural West of freckle-faced kids in overalls, feisty old grandpas and the pleasures of going shin’. The fth-generation Huntsville native grew up around horses, chores and country life and he paints, draws and lives scenes that are quietly disappearing—scenes that are keys to America’s heritage. He’s been commissioned by the World Cup downhill and the World Cup disabled ski races and has been recognized by range and ranching societies who focus on the disappearing Old West. His two inspirational books, No Bad Apples and From the Back of a Horse, combine images of country scenes with original verse.

Smith & Edwards

Smith & Edwards is proud to honor its heritage by being part of the “Trail To Pioneer Days” extravaganza. Three generations that have believed and lived rodeo, ranching, and our western lifestyle have joined artist Steve Johnson to present the American Paint Horse. Steve and his family have been friends with the Kosoff and Smith family over the years and are proud to partner up on this project.
