Catherine Harris has always appreciated the deep and meaningful messages art can give to different people. Art can be as inspirational as a sunset over the mountains on a clear day or as relevant as the political injustice of human suffering in a world that is all too jaded. She believes that art is a way for artists to communicate these varied and complex concepts to their viewers. The California native has lived in Ogden for many years where she has raised four children and is currently nishing her studies in Art and English at Weber State University.
For 65 years Oldcastle Precast has provided its customers with superior products and services. Started in the 1930s as Utah Concrete Pipe Company, the business produced concrete pipe, manholes and concrete block at locations in Ogden and Salt Lake City. In 1970, the name was changed to Amcor, Inc. and 8 years later became Oldcastle Precast. Over the years, the company has grown to include manufacturing operations in Ogden and Hurricane; a waterworks division in Ogden, West Jordan and Las Vegas; a new state-of-the-art concrete pipe plant and more. Oldcastle Precast currently employs over 150 people in Ogden and North Salt Lake, and credits decades of success to the daily efforts of a highly skilled and dedicated production and engineering staff.
