Peery’s Egyptian Theater
Born in 1988 and raised on the mean streets of Layton, Jon Trimble showed promise at a young age with his crayon renditions of dinosaurs. As Jon grew, so did his skill in various mediums from watercolor to clay. Jon’s work brings the grand and unusual to the everyday and has earned him many sales and awards from art shows across the state, including the Eccles Community Art Center Statewide Competition’s Purchase Award for a painting that now hangs in the center’s permanent collection.
Eccles Community Art Center
Located in the historic David Eccles mansion, the Eccles Community Art Center exhibits art by regional and local artists. Exhibits change monthly and include two statewide competitions each year, which are open to Utah residents. The center’s Carriage House Sales Gallery has gift items by local artisans and craftspeople. Visitors can also enjoy a permanent collection of works by contemporary Northern Utah artists displayed throughout the historic home and three-dimensional works in the Sculpture Garden. Visual and performing arts classes are available. Open weekdays 9 to 5, Saturdays 9 to 3 and closed Sundays and major holidays. Admission is free.
